Developed by J. Berra Engineering in 1995, our clients now number over 12% of the 15,000+ public school districts in the country, including the U.S. Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) and all of their domestic schools.
Since the first edition, we have modified the Plan four times in order to stay current with leading edge standard operating procedures, ahead of new fears, and compliant with the new Federal Mandates. The 4th Edition is our current edition. It has been updated to include the NIMS-National Incident Management System and the ICS-Incident Command System as initiated by Homeland Security Presidential Directive-5. It also includes Pandemic Influenza Preparation as the 38th crisis.
Having been in business for over 27 years, we have combined our professional safety engineering expertise, our experience in Education, and our computer graphics capability to develop the most reliable, user-friendly, and Affordable Crisis Management Plan available.
The Crisis Management Plan for Schools ® is available in several different formats. Besides the 140-page red notebook, it is also available in an electronic version and in breakout flipcharts that enumerate the individual responsibilities of various personnel positions. Learn more about formats.
The standard 38 crisis responses of the Crisis Management Plan for Schools ® are suitable to all school districts, metropolitan or rural, public or parochial, regardless of size, K-12.
However, depending on where you are located, you may or may not have to deal with a hurricane, a tornado, or an earthquake. And your bell system or standard operating procedures may be slightly different than those prescribed in our standard Plan.
For that reason we offer you the ability to customize the Plan to your district with the electronic version -- OR by letting us customize it for you
